After a great start to the year with 8 winners in January we didn’t want the month to end – but thankfully February has started just as well with a double in Newcastle last night.
Starfighter was running his best race for a long time and looked set to finish a good second, which we would have been delighted with, however due to the misfortunes of the horse in front – Lord Halifax – we were a lucky winner. Our condolences go out to the yard and all connections of Lord Halifax.
Imperial Command followed up in the apprentice race that followed, ridden by Elisha Whittington – who is building up a good association with the yard. Imperial Command was unlucky last time out and deserved to get his head back in front, making it 2 from 3, since joining the yard. Mark Jones and MJ Refridgeration are enjoying their start to racehorse ownership!!
